This painting appears to have three stork-like birds or flamingos with a boat in the background. I’ve only been able to find this painting in old newspaper clippings. I’m making an assumption that this one is named “Waterfowl,” which was featured in Marian’s exhibition at the Knoedler Gallery in 1933 but I could be wrong. Sometimes she did multiple paintings of a similar subject. The fact it was photographed for newspaper article makes me think this was the one featured at the gallery.
A news mention that Marian and just completed a painting of “three flamingos” was published in 1922, which is how I decided on the date for this painting.
