I have only been able to find images of this painting in old newspapers and the images are not very good. But at least a description in an article from 1922 writes the painting “is opulent in gold paint, lavished upon the temple, its minarets and other details. The facade carries red, black and white arranged as in a dream. At the right is a blue water way of irregular width, and in the distance and piercing the upper reaches are snowcapped mountains.”
Marian began her “Temple” series while she was visiting her brother in Guam, right before she moved to New York City. There are allegedly 18 paintings in the series.
