This is a black and white photograph but I’m positive this is one of Marian’s large black and white oil paintings she did during the 1930s when much of her work took on a darker vibe. The white boat appearing on the water seems to be keeping the monsters at bay, maybe even dispersing them. I feel like this painting’s message is a “good conquers all” theme.
I’m not aware of an official title yet for this painting so “Salvation” is my own title for this piece.
