True painting title unknown. This rather menacing painting has a similar feel to “Famine.” The great white bird hovers over an equally creepy body in a boat that looks dead or skeletal. Marian’s swirling texture on the water gives it a feeling of doom and danger. This is a black and white photograph of the painting but I do believe the colors were done in black and white oils.
